STEP INTO THE LEAD HERO’S JOURNEY
Stray life in El Salvador is brutal, but it is not hopeless. Tito’s Hope empowers YOU to be the Lead Hero on the ground in El Salvador or from afar. We support you to take stray dogs and cats from crisis to care to adoption through a 6-step procedure that is aligned with our 4-pillar methodology . By being a Lead Hero, you harness a trusted team across veterinary care, field operations, foster, and storytelling, turning compassion into coordinated action and fundraising to rescue strays and get them adopted.
THE LEAD HERO (YOU)
6-step procedure for 1 or 2 people (ideally, 1 person is in El Salvador)
Step 1. Gather information:
A) Identify the first responder, the person reporting the issue. This person lives nearby. Obtain their name and phone number. Confirm they live nearby and can assist on an ongoing basis.
B) Google map pin of the location of the animal
C) Name of the animal (having a name, even one given on the spot, invokes worth and significance)
D) Have pictures of the animal and description of their issue.
Step 2. Schedule a veterinary appointment. Send a WhatsApp message to Vet on the Road, +503 6842 6435 with the above info. Coordinate with the first responder and schedule an appointment with Vet on the Road for the initial evaluation. The first responder or the lead sponsor will need to be on-site at the appointment.
Step 3. Join a custom Whatsapp group and a fundraising campaign in GiveButter. We will create a Whatsapp support group and GiveButter fundraising campaign specific to the rescue you are leading. We will put a team around it. Many hands make light work. Tito’s Hope has all the tools and platforms We just need your help to start the fundraise and get the word out and drum up more donations.
Step 4. Donate in GiveButter, add 5 friends to the WhatsApp group. You make the first donation. Any amount is acceptable. Add 5 friends to the Whatsapp group. We will ask those 5 friends to make a donation and add 5 more friends, asking them to donate and add 5 more friends, for ever-flowing donations. Tito’s Hope will support you every step of the way.
Step 5. Promote your GiveButter campaign and Tito’s Hope in social media. Nurture the WhatsApp support group. Follow Tito’s Hope in Instagram and X and subscribe to our YouTube channel. Like and re-post. Keep driving interest in the WhatsApp support group. Tito’s Hope has all the tools and platforms and will generate fresh content.
Step 6. Participate in Tito’s Hope foster and adoption efforts and events. We will put a story around this rescue with the goal of finding a permanent home for this/these dog(s)/cat(s).

4-Pillar Methodology
Pillar 1: Assessment & Rescue
We begin by identifying dogs and cats most at risk through on-the-ground assessments and field evaluations performed by our Preferred Veterinarians. Animals in urgent need are prioritized and rescued safely, with immediate veterinary intervention guiding next steps.
pillar 2: Medical Care & Stabilization & Spay/Neuter
Every rescued animal receives veterinary treatment to address injury, illness, and immediate risk. Medical care and spay/neuter is the foundation of our work and informs recovery plans, placement decisions, and long-term outcomes.
pillar 3: Foster-Based Recovery & Preparation
After stabilization, animals recover in foster homes or sanctuaries. These environments provide the safety, consistency, and observation needed for physical healing and emotional recovery while animals prepare for adoption or permanent care.
pillar 4: Adoption & Community Hero Pathways
Adoption completes the journey. Tito’s Hope bridges gaps in access and education so animal lovers can step in as heroes by providing sanctuary, adopting, fostering, supporting care, or advocating for animals in need. This creates lasting outcomes for each rescued life and opens the path for the next animal in crisis.
